Susan Gohman

Co-founder & Partner

Ms. Gohman has over twenty years of experience in lending to and investing in middle market and lower middle market Companies. She is a Co-founder and Partner with Lightspring Capital GP, LLC. Her responsibilities include SBA liaison, deal sourcing, execution, portfolio monitoring, marketing, and investor relations.

Ms. Gohman was most recently with GMB Mezzanine Capital (an SBIC Debenture Leverage fund). During her twelve years there, she was involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment activities including origination, execution, and portfolio management. Ms. Gohman led or co-led the firm’s investment in 16 transactions totaling $76 million in subordinated debt and $36 million in equity. Ms. Gohman served on over 15 boards during her time at GMB and was also involved in the restructuring of investments as required.

Prior to joining GMB, Ms. Gohman was an Associate at Banc of America Capital Investors at which Ms. Gohman had portfolio oversight responsibilities for 8 companies totaling more than $80 million in combined subordinated debt and equity investments.

Prior to BACI, Ms. Gohman was an Analyst at Prudential Capital Group where she was involved in the private placement of senior debt, including investing over $575 million in 14 Midwest-based companies and nearly $300 million in 8 foreign companies.

Ms. Gohman received her MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago and her BS with High Distinction from the University of Minnesota. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
